Sharon Stone silently weeps while reciting own lyrics in music video for Our Flag by Ibrahim Maalouf

Sharon Stone silently wept while reciting her own  lyrics in a music video for Our Flag by Ibrahim Maalouf released on Thursday on YouTube.

The 64-year-old actress was shown in a cross-legged meditative pose in the third music video from Maalouf’s fifteenth studio album Capacity To Love while delivering lyrics she wrote for the song.

The video by French-Lebanese jazz trumpeter Maalouf, 41, opened with worldwide images of humanity, nature and destruction accompanied by mournful music.

The imagery included a busy traffic circle, rolling clouds, polar bears, forests, forest fires, pollution, Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin, and smiling children before ending with clips from 2015 of two-year-old Syrian boy Alan Kurdi dead on the beach after drowning amid the European refugee crisis.

Stone was then shown in a black outfit sitting in a chair silently as she spoke her lyrics in a voice-over accompanied by Maalouf’s music.

‘This nation needs a vacation, From the presentation of your hesitation,’ she started her monologue.

She repeated the phrase, ‘Don’t walk away boy, We’ve got something to say boy Our Country’s not a toy.’

Stone also said, ‘We want leadership with dignity and reverence for life, Memories provide possibility for more than death and strife, Roosevelt, Kennedy and King loved us too when unrest was rife, They were brave and true and wrote it with their life, Give us something real, a dream not just for you.’

Tears started screaming down her face as Stone continued: ‘America I love you, I treasure you and I am sorry for our mistakes, I want a leader who stands for our values, thoughts, mountains, skies, oceans, ozone and lakes.

The camera zoomed in on Stone as she finished by saying, ‘I’m unafraid to tell him: Yes walk away boy, Cause we have something to say Our Country is not a toy, It’s time to walk away boy, Put your head down and walk walk on Motherf***er walk.’

The music video for Our Flag was directed by Maalouf and Nicolas Tussing.  

Stone rose to fame with her portrayal of Catherine Tramell in the 1992 neo-noir erotic thriller Basic Instinct.

She was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress for her portrayal of Ginger McKenna in the 1995 crime drama Casino.
